Henning Borch var i 1960erne og 1970erne en af de fø         rende badmintonspillere ikke blot på          nationalt, men også          på          internationalt plan. Han spillede i 1964 finale i herresingle mod en anden dansker, Knud Aage Nielsen i All England-turneringen, der var datidens uofficielle verdensmesterskab. Han tabte, men tog nogle å         r senere gruelig “         hæ         vn”          ved tre å         r i træ         k —          i 1967, 1968 og 1969 —          at vinde herredoublen i All England sammen med makkeren Erland Kops.

Han var også          deltager i hele fem Thomas Cup-turneringer mellem 1960 og 1973. På          den hjemlige front blev bl.a. det til et DM i herresingle i 1963 og tre DM-titler i herredouble i 1967, 1968 og 1969. Efter karrieren på          eliteplan var Henning Borch i en 20-å         rig periode, fra 1977-98, ansat i Dansk Badmintonforbund, nu Badminton Danmark.
