Borch.. Martin Borch, Architekt, Sø n af Proprietæ r Frederik Borch (f. 1807, d. 1868) og Johanne Frederikke f. Frausing (f. 1809, d. 1886) er fø dt paa Hovedgaarden Skjern i Jylland den i. Marts 1852. Efter sin Konfirmation kom han i Tø mrerlæ re, blev Svend 1870, men fik allerede i Oktober 1869 Adgang til Kunstakademiet, hvorfra han den 19. Marts 1877 fik Afgangsbevis som Architekt. Den n. Marts 1878 tilkendtes den mindre Guldmedaille ham for ?En Bibliotheksbygning± i gothisk Stil. Efter at han i 1880 havde æ gtet Marie Henriette Nyrop, en Datter af Sognepræ st Christoffer Nyrop (f. 1805, d. 1879) og Helene f. Ahlmann (f. 1807, d. 1874), foretog han en Studierejse til Italien, besø gte i 1889 Verdensudstillingen i Paris med ministeriel Understø ttelse og var i 1891, med en Rejseunderstø ttelse paa l000 Kr. fra Akademiet, atter i Italien. Af hans Arbejder kan fremhæ ves Opfø relsen af Christiansminde under Jæ gerspris Stiftelse (1887), Ombygning af Herregaar
